When Chasen approached me with the first draft of Genevieve's script, I knew that there was something special in the intimacy captured in this short film. I lean towards tackling the real and the intersection between intra and interpersonal relationships. Both of these characters have such a clear consciousness that is felt through the pages, and I can't wait to bring them to life.

While sitting with these words, I could quickly and clearly see the film being played out as a tense and intimate one take, bringing the viewer into the world and conflict that this couple are going through. Through the camera, we will be pushing and pulling between these two, far when they feel distant with each other or pressing inward on one character when their micro emotions are more important than anything they can say in a second. I anticipate having a fully rehearsed film, almost like a dance between our leads and our DP.

From an acting standpoint, tension will be built. Keeping the high emotions to a minimum despite being able to see these characters get more frustrated. I've gone back and forth debating if the tension ever fully bursts, or if it keeps bubbling over, and this is where I'm excited to let the whole thing play out. We can do it in a few different ways to see what feels organic, real, and raw for these two. I'm excited to work on such an incredible script that will leave the audience questioning their own decisions: What is love? What is sacrifice? How do we manage to hold onto a true love despite the ever evolving human thought?
